![]() ![]() it was clear what we were building to and I just really don't like reading about it. Captain Ambrose apparently being transgender (I think?!) was incredibly confusing as it just got thrown in, never went anywhere at all, and felt entirely random. The scene where they (maybe) do get it on was very cringe. The romance elements felt like an afterthought that just got tossed in at the end and therefore felt very unsatisfying and anticlimactic. I would love the algorithms to stop recommending it to me!) Significantly better than Throne Of Glass which I absolutely hated! (I will never understand the love for that. It is a tropey genre story but the plot didn't feel tired or too predictable Most of the characters were well-developed and felt like people. I liked Valek too but could have done with learning more about him! for some reason, other characters seemed to, by and large, instantly love her. She has a lot of agency and drives most of the plot herself. For the most part I did like Yelena, a strong, independant main character with a tough past who doesn't go on about it. ![]() ![]() ![]() Well written, and the cliffhangers at the end of every chapter had me up way too late reading. ![]()
